The Refuel lands on home turf at the Silverstone Festival. One last blast for this iconic racing event.

Landing back on UK soil after our French campaign at La Sarthe we join as the official wellness partners of the Silverstone Festival. Setting up in the shadow of the vast Michelin truck was speedy and efficient and then not, as the keys for the transit van went AWOL.

After an enforced 7hr round trip to collect the spares, or more accurately to drive to where the spares were supposed to be located but were not, was a pressure test of The Refuel shoulder to shoulder essence. Having failed to find the keys, which were later discovered the following morning deep in the bowels of Buck the truck (having performed some kind of key based gymnastics off the top of a slab of water bottles), we had proved that The Refuel Roadtrip Roadster was a peach and even in the most extreme circumstances time spent shoulder to shoulder with people who inspire you (even if they’ve lost the bloody keys) is still a joy. Bleary eyed and with the transit happily removed from site, the doors to the last Silverstone Festival swung open. With our array of random vehicles (from 1963 NASCAR’s, Porsche 944 Safari to Buck the Truck and The Refuel Roadtrip Roadster) drawing a crowd the conversations started to flow.

The army arrived in the form of Liam, Daniel and Hector, took up residence in the truck (better than camping) and the conversation flowed. ‘The Boys” were there on a recruitment drive but their understanding of time spent shoulder to shoulder and using time in cars as a force for good was infectious. Their energy and engagement with The Refuel was reflected across the whole weekend in the time and kindness of strangers.

Buck, having done what any good American classic would do following the roadworks at Towcester, had dumped his coolant all over the carpark. He was fixed on stand by a new Refueller called John (legend), who during our conversation about The Refuel disappeared under the front end of the truck, diagnosed the issue, fixed the problem and then arrived back later that evening with coolant. Clearly we repaid in beers as we questioned if the booker at Silverstone had sourced the least appropriate performers to make Car Fest look good in 2026.

With every car on the grid wearing a Refuel scrutineering badge the brand was lapping on some of the most iconic vehicles on the planet. Time spent in the paddock was a reminder that in the few months since our launch at Le Mans, The Refuel had gone from an idea to a movement powered by the passion and engagement of those we have met on our journey so far. Those who, like us, know that cars aren’t mere transport, they are an energy source, a unique connection point and a language that bonds us all.

Our journey is just beginning and will be fuelled by you, our founding members.

In the coming weeks we will reveal details of our Annual Gathering of Machines The Refuel AGM, a drive in like no other for all members.

And if you want more Refuel Roadtrip Roadster in your life, get out there, drive, raise for causes you care about. Every £20 gives you another entry ticket to the draw and will be funding change.

See you out there and may the road rise to meet you.
